If you have bad / no reception with your remote control, please use new batteries first. If this problem persists, you can easily test whether the problem lies with your remote control or with the receiver in your device.
You will need a mobile phone / smartphone with a camera function.
* Open the camera app on your phone.
* Hold it aimed at the infrared receiver of the remote control.
* Press the buttons on your remote control and look at the display on your phone to see if the infrared LED on the remote control is illuminated.
If this is the case, then your remote control is fine and the problem is most likely with the receiver in your device.
Please keep in mind that an infrared signal must always make direct contact with the receiver.
Note this "trick" does not work with Apple products, only Android.
