The record and needle of a turntable are sensitive parts of a turntable. Even a small bump can break the needle or damage the record, making it sound bad while playing. 

To prevent these kinds of problems, we have attached the platter and arm separately from the housing with springs as shown below: 

Under the platter are springs that spring along with the plate and arm when you accidentally bump the turntable.
